Thrown Off (all meals 02/25/09)

Today has been a pretty trying day right from the wee hours of the morning. I woke up way later than I should have because I hit the snooze button like 20 times, ran around like a crazy chicken with my head cut off trying to get out of the house on time to make my prison visits, and came out to find my car completely dead. Dead dead dead. So there was stress with calling to reschedule my prison visits for later in the afternoon (the folks working at the prisons aren’t always the most pleasant but I got lucky today), stress with not knowing what was wrong with the car, stress with calling and waiting for trip AAA, etc. And that was all within the first 30 minutes of waking up. Luckily it all worked out- Ryan has a AAA account (mine is expired) so he called and they came and fixed everything- I just had a completely dead, acid covered battery that needed replacing.

My eating schedule has been thrown off all day as well. It’s always a little odd when I go on my prison visits since I typically can’t have lunch at my usual lunch hours and that throws off the rest of the day, but today was particularly messed up. Since my prison visit got pushed back, it was still too early to eat lunch before I went in but it was a really really late lunch by the time I got out. Here are the specifics:

I made fitnessista’s breakfast “cookie.” I like making this on prison visit days since it’s so filling and holds me over for so long. Like usual, I skipped the protein powder (still don’t have any). For my add-ins I used a banana and frozen blueberries instead of the usual chocolate chips. Not gonna lie, I like the chocolate chips better. Maybe if it was fresh blueberries I would feel different, but the frozen ones just aren’t as flavorful. I used 1% milk for the milk part, crunchy Barney Butter for the nut butter, and seasoned it with some cinnamon. It was very yummy as usual. I ate most (maybe 4/5?) of it. Just to give you an idea of portion size because I know it’s hard to tell with photos, that’s a tea saucer plate I used for the “cookie” but I think it’s probably on the larger side of tea saucer plates. Per recipe, I use 1/3 cup of oats for my cookie.

Lunch came in multiple parts today. Three to be exact. On my drive to the prison I had an apple (it had been a few hours since breakfast). After I got out around 2:45 pm I had a KIND bar on my drive back.

I got home around 3:45 and was still a little hungry so I fixed myself some lettuce sandwiches. Three romaine lettuce leaves topped with a 1 teaspoon of guacamole each, and then a thin slice of turkey:

The really weird lunch schedule threw dinner of completely. I wasn’t hungry at all during normal dinner time since lunch was so late, and only started to get hungry around 8:00/8:30 pm. I didn’t want to go hungry (I get really cranky) but at the same time I didn’t want to have too much food since I hate going to bed with a full stomach (and I go to bed early) so I fixed myself a little snack plate- reduced fat wheat thin crackers, tofutti better than cream cheese spread, and a few thin slices of turkey:

And that’s all folks. I’m in the office tomorrow so eating should be more regular and I should hopefully be able to hit the gym for my favorite steps class. Night!

Sorry your day was thrown off. Don’t worry though, I ate enough calories for the both of us yesterday.
